Skite Celidh Band

Skite, a vibrant ceilidh band hailing from Cardiff, is renowned for their spirited performances at events throughout Wales. Ceilidh, a cherished Scottish and Irish tradition, involves couples and groups dancing hand in hand. The goal was to develop a logo and a distinctive brand identity that captures their lively essence.

The Logo

I chose a playful sans-serif font for the logo to reflect the band's spirited and fun essence. To emphasise the theme of togetherness, which is embodied in the dance performances, I modified the "I" and the "T" in the logo. These letters form a visual representation of two people linking arms, reminiscent of ceilidh dancing.

Colour Palette

For the colour palette, I chose Blumine Blue, Fire Opal Orange, White, and Pistachio Green. Blumine Blue provides a calm and stable background, allowing the other colours to pop. Fire Opal Orange brings energy and vibrancy, echoing the lively and spirited nature of ceilidh dancing. White adds a touch of simplicity and clarity, ensuring the design remains clean and fresh. Pistachio Green introduces a playful and natural element, enhancing the overall fun and spirited feel of the band's brand. Together, these colours create a dynamic and engaging visual identity that perfectly matches the band's lively essence.
